Playa Vik is a luxury, private beach resort, in José Ignacio.The focal point of the hotel is the central ‘sculpture’ building.  Made from curved titanium and glass, its 55-foot sliding glass wall opens fully to allow the outside in.

Inside, various pieces of art by internationally renowned artists contribute to the décor which includes Japanese Shoji doors. Art is an important theme throughout the hotel and is a mixture of works commissioned from local artists as well as international pieces collected over the years. Facilities in the main building include 4 uniquely designed suites, an Italian-designed bar and kitchen and a light and airy living room.

 The kitchen is headed up by renowned chef Marcelo Betancourt and the dining room opens out onto the deck and pool area. The pool is a feature in itself. 75-fet long and made of Absolute Nero Granite, it is a gravity defying structure featuring a fibre optic lit celestial map of the southern hemisphere and fabulous views over the Atlantic Ocean. There are six individual casas surround the sculpture. Each has its own living garden roof, filled with bougainvillea.

They are all uniquely designed and contain fireplaces and windows that slide into the walls, opening out onto the private gardens and blending the interior with the exterior. Guests can indulge in a range of activities from relaxing by the pool, on the beach or with a massage to polo lessons, horse riding, surfing and nature walks.
