Am I protected?

When you book a trip with Humboldt Travel you can be sure that you are doing so with confidence.

The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked from this brochure and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We have total financial protection for all of our clients. All trips including international flights from the UK are protected by way of a bond held by the Civil Aviation Authority of CAA House, 45-59 Kingsway, London WC2B 6TE under ATOL number 12237.

When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong.

We are members of the Travel Trust Association (membership number Q9876), an organisation which provides consumers with 100% financial protection when a booking is made. Every penny you pay to Humboldt Travel is guaranteed by the Travel Trust Association so were the worse to happen and our company to financially fail or cease trading, the Travel Trust Association will liaise with the suppliers to ensure that your holiday goes ahead unaffected. If for any reason this is not possible, the Trust will refund you the money that you have paid for your holiday.

When you make a booking Humboldt Travel deposits your money into a Trust Account which is a bank account designated to hold your money. Your money remains in the Trust Account and is supervised by an appointed Trustee who is either a banker, chartered or certified accountant or a solicitor. Both Humboldt Travel AND the Trustee are required to authorise payments from the Trust Account.

Therefore, the Trust Account plus the guarantee will ensure that all the money which you have paid is safely protected and available to reimburse the money paid. When you make a booking, you will be supplied with a guarantee certificate.

If the worst was to happen and the business collapsed, the Travel Trust Association will take over your booking and enable it to still go ahead.  If the trip can not continue then you will receive a full refund.

Insurance

Travel insurance is vital and it is your responsibility to ensure that you take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover you during your travel. We reserve the right to request details of your policy before you travel. It is always advisable to take out travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday in case you have to cancel for unforeseen reasons.

If you choose to travel without adequate travel insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available. If you lose any personal items whilst on holiday we advise you to obtain a written police report and/or from a local representative to assist with any insurance claim upon your return.

We know it’s not the most exciting part of arranging your holiday but it’s just as important so please make sure you have sufficient cover to protect you whilst you are away.
