The Capitan Suizo hotel is named after the small island, El Capitán which lies in front of the hotel and the Swiss owners;a charming hotel in a beautiful location.
Over three years, this hotel was lovingly constructed using environmentally friendly techniques to be in sync with the natural surroundings. The hotel is set beneath native trees and nestled between rich, organically maintained gardens which are home to a wide variety of wildlife. In each and every corner of Capitán Suizo one can observe the magnificent beauty of Costa Rica’s nature. Birds, howler monkeys, squirrels, grey and green iguanas, geckos, armadillos, skunks, collared anteaters and raccoons are some of the animals that can be seen almost daily throughout the hotel’s garden.
With a 5 ‘Green Leaf’ level award in the Certification of Sustainable Tourism (CST) Capitán Suizo reflects its environmental, social, cultural and economic commitment throughout its operation. The 6 bungalows, 6 ocean front units, 22 superior rooms and the four-bedroom-suite are spacious, furnished with local materials and decorated with regional craftsmanship and antique photographs from Costa Rica. All of them overlook exuberant tropical gardens, face towards the ocean and feature a balcony or terrace and king size beds with a tailor made mosquito net for those who request it. In addition, they each have a comfortable sitting area with a queen size sofa bed (except the 2 ocean front garden rooms) and sliding doors to let the refreshing ocean breeze in. All are equipped with a small refrigerator, coffee and tea facilities, direct dial telephone, safe deposit box and wi-fi internet.
Thanks to the beachfront location, guests can enjoy sand and sun activities right on their doorstep. Alongside the spa with its many treatments, there is a spacious swimming pool surrounded by native trees and a wide selection of activities and tours to choose from.
