INKATERRA HACIENDA CONCEPCION
Built in a former cacao and rubber plantation, this child friendly lodge is located in an enchanting and serenely lush setting surrounded by 819 hectares of natural rainforest.
The rainforest acts as a buffer zone between the Tambopata National Park Reserve and the shores of the vast Madre de Dios river, making the location of this new lodge quite unique and wonderfully remote. Located only 8 kilometers / 25 minutes down river from Puerto Maldonado, Hacienda Concepción can only be reached by taking a scenic canoe ride from the town.
There is a selection of different activities that can be experienced from the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, all of which give an intriguing insight into life in the Amazon rainforest. Guests can take canoe rides, short hikes and night safaris to increase the chances of spotting some of the forests more elusive inhabitants such as sloths, giant river otters and colourful parrots.
Located in a relaxing setting which is also ideal for couples, each Cabaña is equipped with two twin or one king bed, mosquito net, curtains, cotton sheets, 2 hypoallergenic pillows per guest, hypoallergenic comforters, bathrooms with hot water and eco-friendly, natural essence toiletries. For your comfort there are also reading lights, electricity outlets, a ceiling fan, and a sitting area that includes a hammock. Every cabaña has a view to the forest and some of them face the oxbow lake.
The lodge also features a spa called NUA – ‘Sky’ in the native Ese’Eja language. Established over stilts at the hotel’s entrance, NUA spa elevates on the banks of the Madre de Dios River and is the perfect spot to stare at the Amazonian dawn or sunset while enjoying special treatments.
