NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ISLANDER
The National Geographic Islander is a versatile vessel which offers luxury cruises in the enchanting islands of the Galapagos. With a wide selection of equipment on board and an intimate atmosphere, this is a great way to experience the islands.
Designed for year-round discovery and active exploration, the National Geographic Islander provides the perfect platform from which to experience every aspect of the Galápagos—both above and below the sea.
There are 24 cabins on board to accommodate 48 guests. They all feature a large window with an outside view, private facilities, and climate control. Public areas include a covered deck with hammocks, chairs, and tables; a doctor’s office; a fitness center; a gift shop; a spa; a library; a lounge with full-service bar and facilities for films, slide shows, and presentations; and a Sky Deck. The ship is equipped with a fleet of kayaks and Zodiacs, snorkelling gear, underwater video cameras, a video microscope, Internet access, and laundry services. A full-time doctor, an undersea specialist, a photo instructor, a video chronicler, and a wellness specialist accompany every voyage.
If you would like to visit the captain, that too is possible thanks to the ‘open bridge’ policy. Meals are served in the attractive dining area, and there are no assigned seats which allows an informal atmosphere and easy mingling. The menu is international with an Ecuadorian flair.
