TAMBOPATA RESEARCH CENTRE
Tambopata Research Center is a remote yet comfortable lodge offering superior accommodation and excellent activities within the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.
Located deep in the jungle, and accessed by motorised canoe from Puerto Maldonado, the Tambopata Research Centre is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The lodge has access to a hide overlooking a large macaw clay lick, a tall tower for canopy observation, plenty of hiking trails and some of the best naturalist guides in the region.
The lodge offers large rooms with one open-air side facing the jungle, allowing guests to feel immersed in the surroundings. Each has comfortable beds with mosquito nets, organic toiletries, local fruits and suites feature balconies and robes. Meals are served in a large dining area, and consist of delicious local dishes and popular classics.
At the lodge, daily activities take place for guests to observe wildlife, such as jungle walks, nigh safaris, canoe trips and birdwatching. It is possible to see a variety of species including macaws, howler monkeys and the elusive jaguar.
