Classic South Africa
Enjoy a fabulous week-long introduction to South Africa and combine Cape Town with a malaria-free safari.
Start the trip in Cape Town, one of the most scenically beautiful cities in the world. Stay four nights here in one of the top hotels in the city. Spend a day exploring the city, taking in highlights such as Table Mountain and the colourful neighbourhood of Bo-Kaap. You might want to take a boat out to Robben island to visit the notorious prison. Your guide will take you on a private tour of the Cape Peninsula, learning about the fishing heritage, taking a gentle hike along the cape and visiting a penguin colony. The following day, head to the towns of Stellenbosch and Franschoek on a private tour exploring the winelands and tasting some of South Africa’s finest produce. Next, you will fly up to the Eastern Cape and spend three nights in a private game reserve. The Eastern Cape is a great safari option, being malaria free and home to a wide range of animals including the Big 5. For the next few days you will head out on game drives, spotting a variety of game from the Big 5 to cheetah, zebra and plenty of smaller predators. Relax at the end of each day and enjoy fine wines and exceptional food in luxurious surroundings.

WHERE TO STAY
Our suggested luxury hotels for this trip
The Cape Grace – Cape Town
Perfectly positioned on a private quay on the vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, this luxurious boutique hotel combines the allure of the city with unique style, refinement and hospitality. In cool hues of blue, warm shades of red and rich tones of green and gold, each of the 120 guest rooms and suites is completely unique and has its own “story” – the focal point from which the rest of the design elements flow. Spend a lazy day by the outdoor heated pool or visit The Spa, located on the top floor, where you can be revitalised by African-influenced therapies.
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
In the heart of South Africa’s Malaria free Eastern Cape lies Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. 22,000 hectares of pristine wilderness stretched out on either side of the meandering Great Fish River. With only 26 rooms spread across the euphorbia-studded landscape, Kwandwe has one of the highest land-to-guest ratios in South Africa. With both intimate, tranquil lodges and exclusive-use villas, there’s an option to suit families, couples, groups of friends and solo travellers. The team of highly-qualified rangers offer a range of activities, from game drives to rhino conservation.
