Enjoy a few days exploring charming Cusco including the fabulous Inti Raymi festival before exploring the remote Chachapoyas region and  finishing with a cruise along the Peruvian Amazon.

18 DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1

Fly to Peru

Today you will fly overnight from London to Cusco, via Bogota.

DAY 2

Cusco

Upon arrival into Cusco, a private transfer will collect you and take you to your hotel where you will spend the next two nights.

DAY  3

Inti Raymi Festival

Today will be an exciting day as you visit the Inti Raymi festival. A private guide will accompany you as you experience the festival of the sun. Celebrated since Incan times in worship of the Incan god Inti, this is a mix of fascinating rituals and colourful costumes, traditional singing and delicious food.

DAY 4

Sacred Valley

Today, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in the beautiful Sacred Valley, where you will spend the night.

DAY 5

Machu Picchu

An exciting day lies ahead as this is the day you will visit Machu Picchu! Your guide will drive you to the train station where you will board The wonderful Belmond Hiram Bingham train which takes you to Aguas Calientes. This luxury train includes gourmet food and entertainment. From here you will journey onwards to the ruins themselves and spend the rest of the day exploring. You will spend the night in the small town at the foot of the mountain.

DAY 6

Machu Picchu and Cusco

Today you will visit Machu Picchu again in the morning to further explore the fascinating ruins. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Cusco where you will spend the night.

DAY 7

Belmond Andean Explorer Train

Today you will travel the Peruvian highlands on an 3 day/2 night unforgettable, and luxurious, journey from Cusco to Arequipa.

DAY 8

Belmond Andean Explorer Train

Today you will arrive into Puno where you will have the opportunity to visit Lake Titicaca and the famous floating reed islands.

 

DAY 9

Arequipa

After some interesting activities in the morning to visit local caves, you will continue to the Colca Canyon – a 4km deep region of outstanding beauty. In the afternoon, the train will arrive at Arequipa and you will be transferred to your hotel for the night.

DAY 10

Lima

Today a private guide will transfer you to the airport, where you will take a short flight to Lima. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you to your hotel for the next 2 nights.

DAY 11

Private Cooking Lesson in Lima

Today you can enjoy a private cooking lesson in this gastronomical hub. You will shop at a local market for the popular ingredients used in Peruvian cooking and the try your hand at making some classic dishes.

DAY 12

Fly to Cocachimba

In the morning you will take a flight from Lima to the region of Cocachimba, a relatively undiscovered region which boasts incredible history and stunning landscapes. You will spend 3 nights here.

DAY 13

Private Full Day Tour of Kuelap & Surroundings

Today you will be taken by your guide to the fortress of Kuelap, an impressive ancient structure. Afterwards you will be transported to the Leymebamba museum where you can view a collection of over 200 mummies.

DAY 14

Private Full Day Tour of Gocta

Today you will enjoy hiking to different waterfalls, including Gocta which is one of the highest in the world.

DAY 15

Fly to Iquitos and join Amazon Cruise

In the morning you will be transferred back to the airport, where you will take a short flight to Lima and then onwards to Iquitos, in the Amazon rainforest. Here, you will join a luxury cruise for the next 3 nights.

DAY 16 & 17

Amazon Cruise

You will spend these days cruising along the magnificent river. There will be plenty of opportunities to disembark, visiting local communities and spotting birds and wildlife. Try your hand at fishing and take smaller boats around the tributaries. Each day you will return to the luxury of the boat for lunch and dinner.

DAY 18

Lima

Today you will return to shore and take a private transfer to the airport from where you will fly to Lima. On arrival, a private guide will accompany you to your hotel for the final night in Peru.

DAY 19

Fly home

Today, at the appropriate time, you will take a private transfer to the airport for your flight home.
