Perhaps neglected in favour of the better-publicised attractions of the Brazilian south, the cultural richness and otherworldly landscapes of Brazil’s remote northern coastal regions make for an exceptional trip. Your holiday begins with the colonial centre of Sao Luis, before heading out into the soft, undulating dunes of Atins and Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Continuing on through the picturesque rivulets and lagoons of the Parnaíba Delta, you will eventually reach Preá, where you can pause to enjoy three nights in Casana, Brazil’s most luxurious beach hideaway. After a flying visit to the beaches of Guajiru, a lazy fishing village with miles of stunning and unspoiled coastline, you will fly to the Fernando de Noronha archipelago to conclude your trip. Regularly voted the most idyllic beaches in the world, the beaches tucked away in the sheltered bays and coves of Fernando de Noronha are perfect for whiling away a few days of perfect relaxation.

Day by Day itinerary
DAY 1
Arrive into São Luís
Arrive into São Luís and transfer to your hotel for the next two nights. This evening, enjoy a walking tour of the colonial city centre.

DAY 2
Visit Alcantara
Today you will head out into the countryside for a half day tour of the colonial town of Alcantara, formerly a place of residence for the rich landowning class in northern Brazil.
DAY 3
Discover the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park
From São Luís, you will set off to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, for your first day of touring this unique region. At the end of the day, transfer to your hotel in Atins for the next two nights.

DAY 4
Explore the dunes
Today will be a full day of touring the dunes and lagoons in the surrounding area.
DAY 5
Explore the flora and fauna of the area
Continuing on from Lençóis Maranhenses, your tour of the Route of Emotions will wind through the rivulets and pools of the Parnaíba Delta where you will be able to observe a variety of unique flora and fauna.

DAY 6
Travel to Preá
Arriving further along the coast to Preá, you will spend three nights at Hotel Casana enjoying the deserted beaches and perhaps trying your hand at kitesurfing, which is especially good here.

Free time at your hotel in Preá
Enjoy some free time explore the area or relax at your indulgent luxury hotel.
DAY 9
Travel to Guajiru
Today you will continue from Preá to Guajiru, a relaxed fishing village around two hours from Fortaleza, where you will spend two nights at Zorah Beach.

Free time in Guajiru
Enjoy a free day to relax on the beach.
DAY 11
Travel to the luxurious island of Fernando de Noronha
Today you will transfer to the airport in nearby Fortaleza and fly via Recife to the Fernando de Noronha archipelago where you will spend the next three nights.

DAYS 12 – 13
Relax at Pousada Maravilha
This time is free for you to enjoy the stunning beaches of Fernando de Noronha. For the active, the diving and snorkelling here is world-class. Boat trips, buggy rides and scenic hikes are also available.

Fly home
Today your guide will take you to the airport for your flight home.
